Former senator Niall Ó Donnghaile has revealed that he is the Sinn Féin member at the centre of the latest controversy to embroil the party.
The former Sinn Féin councillor and Lord Mayor of Belfast revealed to the Irish News he was the party member suspended last year following a complaints over text messages sent to a teenager last year.
Sinn Féin President Mary Lou McDonald is due to address the Dail Eireann on recent controversies which have plagued the party since two press officers resigned after providing references for convicted sex offender Michael McMonagle.
