A 19-year-old man has been stabbed in the eye during an assault in north Belfast.
The attack happened in the Eia Street area of the city at around 7.45pm on Friday.
It was reported that the victim was walking in the area when a dark coloured car approached and three men got out.
One of the men stabbed the victim in the eye with an unknown weapon.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “The male was taken to hospital for his injuries, which required a number of stitches and the male suffered nerve damage behind the eye following the incident.”
The men involved were described as wearing dark coloured tracksuits.
“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and police would appeal to anyone with any information, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 881 01/02/25,” the spokesperson added.
