Two arrested following separate Derry drug seizures

Two people have been arrested after suspected drugs were seized during two separate policing operations in Derry.

A 38-year-old man was detained after suspected cannabis worth £20,000 was found when a vehicle was stopped in the Culmore Road area of the city on Wednesday evening.

He was later charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug and possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, and is due to appear before Derry Magistrates Court on Friday.

Al charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.



Meanwhile, detectives from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch conducted a search on Wednesday in the Skeoge area of the city.

A quantity of suspected Class B drugs was seized along with a vehicle, a sum of cash, and drug paraphernalia.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing criminal property and being concerned in an offer to supply a Class A drug.

He was later released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.
