Two people have been injured in an attack in Co Down that saw a man struck several times on the head.
The incident happened in Newcastle, and it is understood a man in his thirties was attacked by another male while at the beach close to Golf Links Road on Wednesday afternoon.
He was later found injured in a nearby tent at around 4.50pm, along with a woman in her thirties.
The woman was also injured and both were taken to hospital for treatment.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Officers are investigating and would ask anyone with any information, CCTV footage or who may be able to help with police enquiries, to call them on 101 quoting 1080 12/06/24.”
