Man arrested after shotgun discharged in Co Down street

Police said the 23-year-old man was located on a nearby rooftop

Police are continuing to question a 23-year-old after a shotgun was discharged in a Co Down street.

A PSNI spokeswoman said it happened in Ballygowan on Sunday morning.

“A round struck a garage window at a property in Oakdale at around 7.45am this morning,” she said.

“Responding officers detained the male after he was located on a rooftop in nearby Meadow Avenue.

“The suspect remains in custody at present.”
