A man in his twenties has been arrested after police seized drugs and a large quantity of cash in Co Down.
Detectives from the PSNI’s organised crime branch uncovered the items during a number of searches at residential premises in the Killyleagh and Shrigley on Friday.
Around £50,000 in cash and a quantity of suspected Class A drugs with an estimated street value of around £75,000 were seized from a property during what police described as a “proactive policing operation”.
A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.
He remained in police custody on Friday evening.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “The suspected drugs and cash seized will now be subject to further examination and our enquiries remain ongoing.
“These searches and seizure are a demonstration of our ongoing commitment to tackle all types of organised criminality and the supply and demand of drugs is a vicious cycle that we need to collectively break within our communities, as it feeds wider organised criminality.”
