Man arrested on suspicion of Co Down creeper-style burglary

Police are investigating a burglary in Bangor and an attempted break-in in Ballyclare

Police investigating a creeper-style burglary in Co Down have arrested a 24-year-old man after a report of an attempted break-in Co Antrim.

A man was recorded on a doorbell camera entering a property in the Killaire Road area of Bangor on Sunday at around 9.40pm, before taking the keys to a red Suzuki Swift and making off in the vehicle.

The car was later seen in the north Belfast area.



Police then attended a report of a man attempting to gain access to a shed at a property in the Cartall Road area of Ballyclare at around 5.50am on Tuesday.

Officers located the stolen car and arrested the 24-year-old on suspicion of burglary, theft of a vehicle, attempted burglary, attempted criminal damage, theft, no driving licence and no insurance.

He remained in custody on Tuesday evening.
