Man attacked with wooden bats during Co Derry burglary

A man has been treated in hospital for injuries including cracked teeth after being assaulted with wooden bats during a burglary in Co Derry.

The break-in in the Glenelly Villas area of Draperstown was reported to police shortly before 11.25pm on Sunday.

Two men entered a property, with one carrying wooden bats, and an occupant in his 20s was assaulted by both men

“He was taken to hospital with multiple cracked teeth and a cut to the left side of his lip,” a PSNI spokesperson said.



“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident and we would appeal to anyone with any information, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1916 08/09/24.”
