A man in his 20s has died after getting into difficulty at a lake in Co Armagh.
Police said the man entered the water in the Lake Road area of Craigavon on Saturday shortly after 6pm and “sadly encountered difficulties”.
A PSNI spokeswoman said: “A multi-agency search operation was immediately launched involving police, Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, and Community Search and Rescue volunteers.
“Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are ongoing, and a post-mortem will take place in due course, however at present the death is not believed to be suspicious.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased.”
The man’s name has not yet been released.
Sinn Féin councillor Catherine Nelson has expressed her condolences with the family of a man who died.
“The community is shocked and saddened to learn that a man tragically lost his life in Craigavon on Saturday,” she said.
“My first thoughts and condolences are with this man’s family and friends at this very sad and difficult time.
“I would also like to pay tribute to the emergency services for all their efforts.”
His death comes just a week after a young Co Tyrone man also lost his life after entering a lake.
Fiachra Ó Faoláin (21), who was from the Brantry area, died after getting into difficulties in Carrick Lough near Aughnacloy on June 1.
The young man, who was a nephew of Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA Colm Gildernew and former Sinn Féin MP Michelle Gildernew, was remembered as “much loved and caring”.
