The Republic’s Garda Ombudsman has launched an investigation following the death of a man in custody at Buncrana Garda station in Co Donegal.
A Garda spokesman said the man, who was in his 30s, was found dead in a cell at the Inishowen station on Thursday night
“Despite resuscitative attempts by medical personnel and first responders who attended, this male was later pronounced deceased,” the spokesman said.
As the man died in custody, the Republic’s Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) has been called in to investigate the death.
