A resident has sustained head injuries after being beaten by a man wearing a clown mask during an aggravated burglary in Armagh.

The man was one of two males who forced their way into a property in the Castle Street area of the town at around 11pm on Tuesday.

The other was wearing a dark-coloured mask, and the occupant was beaten with what is believed to have been a stick, police have said.



“The victim sustained injuries to their head during the attack,” a PSNI spokesperson said.

“Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anyone suspicious in the area or to anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with the investigation is asked to get in touch on 101 quoting reference 1540 of 13/08/24.”
