Man questioned by police in Derry on suspicion of drugs offences released on bail

A 47-year-old man arrested in Derry on suspicion of drugs offences has been released on police bail.

The arrest followed a police seizure of suspected Class A and Class B drugs in the city on Monday.

Police said Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Team officers were in attendance at an address in the Shantallow area shortly after 5pm, in regard to an un-related matter, when they suspected drugs were present.

Officers conducted a search and seized suspected cocaine and cannabis.



A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A controlled drug and possession of a Class B controlled drug.

He was subsequently released on bail to allow for further enquiries to be conducted.
