Man released following arrest over firearm in Dunmurry

Police responded to report in Dunmurry on Sunday

A 25-year-old man arrested by police for possession of an imitation firearm in west Belfast has been released to allow for further enquiries.

The man was arrested on Sunday in the Hornbeam Road area of Dunmurry after police responded to a report at around 8.10pm.

The man was also arrested for offences including possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause someone fear, and possession of a blade or point in a public place.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Enquiries are continuing, and anyone with any information which might assist is asked to contact police on 101, and quote reference number 1496 of 07/04/24.”
