A man in his 20s was reportedly stabbed in an aggravated burglary in west Belfast early on Sunday morning.

Two people have been arrested after a man and a woman allegedly armed with a knife and baton entered a house in Gardenmore Walk at around 3am.

A woman also in the house was pushed down the stairs, police said, but neither of the two occupants’ injuries are believed to be serious.

Windows of the house were also broken in the burglary.

A police spokesman confirmed two people were in police custody on Sunday.

He said: “A 48-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of related offences and are both assisting police with their enquiries.”
