Man walking dog suffered ‘serious facial injuries’ in east Belfast assault

Police said the attack happened in the Clarawood Estate

A man walking his dog has suffered serious facial injuries after he was assaulted in east Belfast.

The victim, who is aged in his sixties, was attacked in the Clarawood Estate in an area known locally as ‘Marsh Wiggle’.

Police said the victim was assaulted by an unknown male, who was accompanied by another man who had two XL Bully type dogs with him.

A PSNI said the attack happened on July 11 at around 11am.

Issuing an appeal for information, a PSNI spokesman said: “This male was described as having grey hair, was of slim build, approximately 5′10″ tall and possibly aged in his early fifties.

“He was wearing grey clothing and was accompanied by a teenage male and had two XL Bully type dogs with him when he is alleged to have assaulted the victim.

“The injured man sustained serious facial injuries and required hospital treatment following the attack.
