A masked man attempted to rob a shop in Co Armagh while armed with a knife on Friday night.
Police say the incident happened in the Dundalk Street are of Netwownhamilton.
“It was reported that a masked man, wearing dark clothing and armed with a knife entered the premises shortly before 9pm,” a police spokesperson said.
“He approached a kiosk inside the premises and passed a note to a member of staff with a demand that they hand over money.
“The staff member instead pressed a panic alarm and the male then fled the scene empty handed.”
Police are asking anyone with any information about the incident to contact detectives in Newry.
