Newly ordained priests and clerics from Nigeria to take up new roles in Armagh diocese

Two recently ordained priests and two clerics from Nigeria are to take up new roles in the Archdiocese of Armagh.

The clerical changes were announced by Archbishop of Armagh Eamon Martin.

Newly ordained priest, Rev Francesco Campiello, is to become curate in the Ardee and Collon, while continuing studies in Rome.

Rev Davis Haberkorn, also newly-ordained, is to be assistant to the rector at the Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary in Dundalk.

He will also provide Sunday supply cover in Lower Killeavy.

Other changes will see Rev Callum Young conclude his role as assistant to the rector of the Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary, Dundalk.

He will carry out pastoral responsibilities for the Missio ad Gentes community in Dundalk, and continue as CC in the St Patrick’s, Holy Redeemer and Holy Family parishes in the Co Louth town.



Rev Stephen Wilson will be curate at Saint Patrick’s and Holy Redeemer Parishes and Holy Family Parish in Dundalk.

Two priests - Rev James Adawai and Rev Kingsley Idoghor - both on loan from the Sons of Mary Mother of Mercy Congregation in Nigeria, will take on roles in St Patrick’s Cathedral Parish, Armagh and the Diocese of Dromore.

The clerical appointments will take effect from September 7.

Archbishop Martin said: " I wish to thank the priests and deacons of the archdiocese for their continued ministry and service, and I offer my prayers and good wishes to those who are taking up these new appointments.

“I also thank the people of the Archdiocese of Armagh for their ongoing prayers and support of their clergy.

“I encourage them to welcome their new pastors in the coming weeks.”
