A horse-cart pained orange and and white for the 2002 All Ireland final has been resurrected as the Orchard County head to Croke Park on the biggest day of the season once more.

Sandwiched between the sleepy south Armagh villages of Creggan and Silverbridge, Seamus Morgan purchased a horse cart from a local farmer with the idea of fixing it and putting it to good use in 2002.

But shortly afterwards, his beloved Armagh Football team made it to the All-Ireland final.

“We only had it for a short period of time before they made it to the final,” said Seamus, “so I decided to have a bit of craic and do it up for the team.

“Sure enough, it proved to be a good decision, and it came out the following year to cheer them on again.”

As soon as the final whistle blew in Armagh’s victory against Kerry, Seamus knew it was time to bring the cart out again.

“It had been lying in the garage for 21 years so we had a lot of work to do to get it fixed up.”

“My son and my grandson came round to give me a hand in getting it done up in time,” he added.

“I never thought I’d see the day when this cart would be brought out again.”
