Oasis have released a statement on the dynamic pricing for their latest concerts after what they described as an “unacceptable experience” for fans.

The brit pop duo have announced five stadium shows across North America as part of their reunion tour next year.

Pre-sale tickets will be released on October 3, while the general sale takes place on October 4.

The band also said on their website they “strongly advise that those wishing to purchase tickets register in advance of the sale with Ticketmaster”.

It comes after fans in the UK and Ireland were shocked by standard tickets for their reunion tour more than doubling from £148 to £355 on Ticketmaster last month, prompting the Government and the UK’s competition watchdog to pledge they will look into the use of dynamic pricing.

Ticketmaster has said it does not set concert prices and its website states this is down to the “event organiser” who “has priced these tickets according to their market value”.

An official statement from Oasis Management said “Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model will not be applied” to the forthcoming sale of tickets to oasis concerts in North America to “hopefully avoid a repeat of the issues fans in the UK and Ireland experienced” recently.

“It is widely accepted that dynamic pricing remains a useful tool to combat ticket touting and keep prices for a significant proportion of fans lower than the market rate and thus more affordable,” they said.

“But, when unprecedented ticket demand is combined with technology that cannot cope with that demand, it becomes less effective and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans.

“We have made this decision for the North America Tour to hopefully avoid a repeat of the issues fans in the UK and Ireland experienced recently.”

Next year will see the band perform for the first time in 15 years.

Noel quit the Manchester rock group on August 28 2009, saying he “simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer” with the brothers making negative comments about each other for more than a decade.

Though fans have been positive about a reunion, concerns have been raised about high ticket prices and accommodation, and the prospect of Liam and Noel having another falling out.

Oasis said they will play five dates in North America:

• Rogers Stadium in Toronto, Canada, on 24 August

• Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, on 28 August

• MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on 31 August

• Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles, California, on 6 September

• Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, Mexico, on 12 September
