One person has been taken to hospital following an incident in east Belfast described as a “medical emergency”.
The charity air ambulance was among emergency services to arrive in the Montgomery Road area of the city shortly before noon on Friday after the alert was raised.
The Health and Safety Executive NI (HSENI) has also attended the scene, it has been confirmed.
A spokesperson for the NI Ambulance Service said the air ambulance ferried Helicopter Emergency Medical Service staff to the Montgomery Road area, while two ambulances and a hazardous response team also arrived.
“Following initial assessment and treatment at scene, one patient was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by ambulance,” they said.
A PSNI spokesperson said officers had assisted “emergency service colleagues at the scene of a medical emergency in east Belfast”, adding on Friday: “No further details are available at present.”
