Pensioner faces 12 charges of making indecent images of children

Accused will stand trial in February

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a series of indecent images charges.

Anthony Daly (70) of Carmoney Park in Campsie outside Derry appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local magistrates court on Thursday.

He faced 12 charges of making indecent images of children on dates between June 23 2022 and August 27 2022.

He also faced charges of possessing prohibited images over the same period.

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

Daly said he did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on February 7 and released on bail.
