Police arrest 16-year-old boy after ‘race hate-related assault’ on teenager in west Belfast

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested by police investigating a ‘race hate-related assault’ on a teenager in west Belfast.

The boy was detained on suspicion of riotous behaviour, common assault and criminal damage.

Police said on Wednesday that he remains in custody.



The arrest is related to an attack on a 15-year-old boy on the Falls Road on Tuesday. The victim is understood to have suffered a facial injury.

A PSNI spokesperson said the “investigation into the incident remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101″.
