The PSNI have attended the scene of a sudden death in Belfast city centre.

Emergency services including the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene in the James Street South area of the city on Wednesday afternoon.

The PSNI and forensics remain at the scene. A cordon is in place and the road remains closed to traffic.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Police are currently at the scene following a sudden death in the James Street South area of Belfast city centre.

“Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. There are no further details at present.”
