Masonry and other items thrown were thrown at police during disorder in west Belfast.

Police responded to a call in the Lower Falls area of west Belfast on Sunday at around 10pm.

Officers initially attended the scene following reports of a large crowd gathering in the area.

After this, masonry and other items were thrown at police and fire service personnel who had attended to extinguish a fire which had been lit in an industrial bin.

The police said the crowd dispersed by around 11pm and while there were no reports of any injuries, a police car was damaged as a result of the incident.
