A 20-year-old woman killed in a crash in Co Fermanagh has been named by police.
Amy Stokes, from Ballyconnell in Co Cavan, died in a single vehicle crash in Derrylin on Monday night.
She was a passenger in a a silver Vauxhall Astra that crashed in the Ballyconnell Road area shortly after 10.50pm.
Ms Stokes was pronounced dead at the scene upon the arrival of emergency services, while three other people in the car were taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Collision Investigation Unit detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the tragic collision, and would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have captured dash-cam or other footage which could assist with our enquiries.
“Please call on 101, quoting reference 1642 of 23/12/24.”
Fermanagh and Omagh Sinn Féin councillor Declan McArdle said in a social media post following news of the young woman’s death: “This is heartbreaking, especially at this time of year. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.”
She was the second person killed on the north’s roads on Monday, following the death of a lorry driver in a single-vehicle crash in Beragh, Co Tyrone earlier that day.
A total of 66 people have now lost their lives in crashes in Northern Ireland this year.
