A popular south Belfast restaurant will close in November as it intends to leave its current premises for a city centre location.

Mexican restaurant Cú, which is currently located on the Lisburn Road, took to social media to announce the plans to relocate when its current lease comes to an end at the start of November.

The restaurant hopes to relocate to a new location in the city centre at some point in 2025.

“As we approach the end of our current lease on the Lisburn Road, we have made the decision not to renew as we’ve decided to try and find a location closer to the city centre hopefully some time next year,” the statement read.

“We’ve had the best time ever in south Belfast and we’re truly grateful for everyone who came and made Cu everything it was.”

As they gear up to spend their final months in south Belfast, Cú is inviting customers to suggest dishes they would like to see on a special menu.

“But as always, there’s a silver lining,” they said.

“For the next number of weeks we’re going back to why you all fell in love with Cu in the 1st place and will be running a ‘Cu Classics’ menu with all your favourite tacos, dishes and drinks. Anything you want to see on it? Let us know.”

Cú will close its doors after a final ‘fiesta’ on November 2.
