QUEUES of motorists are expected to grow further as a fuel provider announced price reductions at 20 forecourts across the north.

Go announced an ‘end of January blues’ sale on Wednesday, cutting the price of unleaded petrol at the unmanned forecourts to £1.12.9p per litre, and diesel to £1.19.9p.

The sale is set to last until 7am on Thursday morning, and saw queues begin to form at forecourts on Wednesday evening after the offer was announced as beginning at 7pm on social media.

The average current price for unleaded petrol in the north is £135.5p according to the Consumer Council, while diesel is £143.8p.

Go forecourts in Belfast offering the deal include Great Victoria Street, Falls Road, and Crumlin Road.

Other locations included in the sale are Newry, Coalisland, Ballynahinch and Cookstown.

Go, which is owned by Cookstown-based company LCC Group, caused queues to form at forecourts in November 2022 during their ‘Thanksgiving Thursday’ sale.

Last February saw similar scenes of motorists backed up outside garages when Circle K announced it was cutting fuel by 20p a litre for three hours at its sites across the north.
