Emergency services are at the scene of a serious collision outside Killylea in Co Armagh.

The crash happened on the Killylea Road outside the village on Friday afternoon.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Road users are advised that the Killylea Road outside Killylea is closed following a serious road traffic collision. Please avoid the area.”

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.

The crash follows three fatal collisions in the north in the space of two days over Christmas.

John Hanna, from Downpatrick, died in a single-vehicle collision in the Downpatrick Road area of Ballynahinch on Christmas Eve.

The day before, a lorry driver in his 40s was killed in a single vehicle crash at Moylagh Road in the Beragh area of Co Tyrone.

Later that evening, 20-year-old Amy Stokes, from Ballyconnell in Co Cavan, died when the car she was a passenger in crashed at Ballyconnell Road in Derrylin, Co Fermanagh.

Three others in the vehicle were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A total of 67 people have died on the north’s roads this year.
