Teenage cyclist injured in Belfast hit and run collision

Police are appealing for information following incident on July 21

A teenage boy suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle whose driver failed to stop in south Belfast, police have said.

The collision happened in the Ormeau Road area at around 8pm on Sunday July 21.

The teen was cycling with friends when he was stuck from behind by a dark blue or black coloured Ford car.

He was knocked to the ground, while the car drove off from the scene.



“The victim suffered minor injuries following the fall,” a PSNI spokesperson said.

“Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnesses the collision or to anyone with CCTV, dash-cam or other footage that could assist with enquiries to get in touch on 101 quoting reference 878 of 23/07/24.”
