Teenager (17) due in court after female PSNI officer injured in west Belfast

A 17-year-old boy is due to appear in court in connection with an assault on a female police officer in west Belfast.

Police said the officer sustained severe facial injuries in the attack in the Falls Park area on Thursday evening.

The teenager has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Saturday.
