The former school of a young man who died in hospital three days after a road crash have told of their “sadness and shock”.
Daniel McCallister (18) from the Tandragee area, died on Wednesday from injuries sustained following a two-vehicle collision on the Cladymilltown Road in Markethill on Sunday September 15.
The driver of the other vehicle remains in a critical condition in hospital.
The two vehicles involved in the collision were a blue Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Mr McCallister, and a blue Volkswagen Touran.

Roads Inspector Cherith Adair from the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit said: “My detectives are investigating the circumstances of the collision and would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have captured dash-cam or other footage which could assist with our enquiries.

In a statement, Markethill High School extended its sympathies to the McCallister family. Daniel left the school in 2022.
“The McCallister Family are extremely well known in this area and there is much sadness and shock within the local community. We will continue to keep Mr and Mrs McCallister, Sarah, Jack, Kathryn and Samuel (all past pupils of MHS) in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time,” the school said.
