A teenager is fighting for his life after being assaulted outside a bar in a Co Antrim village in the early hours of Saturday.
The 19-year-old was left unconscious after the assault following what is believed to have been an argument inside the bar on Main Street in Waterfoot which spilled outside.
A 28-year-old man was arrested on Saturday by the PSNI and has now been charged to court for grievous bodily harm.
He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 11.
All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service in line with normal procedures.
Meanwhile, detectives investigating a serious assault outside a bar in the Queensway area of Dunmurry in the early hours of Saturday have arrested a 21-year-old man.
He is being questioned on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The 24-year-old male victim on Sunday was in a stable condition in hospital. He suffered serious facial injuries after being struck with what police described as a “glass item”.
Police said they received a report around 1am a man was assaulted after an argument outside the licensed premises in the Queensway area.
