A 19-year-old man has suffered a gunshot wound to his leg after an attack in Newtownards.
Police said the incident in the Ballyreagh Way area was reported around 8.40pm on Tuesday night.
Officers attended the scene along with ambulance service colleagues, who took the teenager to hospital for treatment.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “There can be no justification for this type of violence. Those who are involved in this attack do not represent the interests of this community, nor do they contribute anything to it.
“They do it to try and exert influence, or gain control of those they claim to represent.”

Police added that their investigations are at an early stage and urged those who witnessed the incident or who have video footage to contact them.
