The railway line between Belfast and Lisburn will close from Wednesday, July 3, until early autumn, Translink has confirmed.
This closure is part of essential engineering works related to the development of the new Belfast Grand Central Station.
During this period, train services from Lanyon Place to Lisburn stations will be affected.
Translink will operate express bus substitutions between Belfast and Lisburn to mitigate the disruption.
Passengers using Lisburn Line stations will need to use regular scheduled Metro and Ulsterbus Lisburn Road services, with valid rail tickets accepted on these routes.
David Curry, Translink’s General Manager Bus Services, said, “These works are essential to complete the rail infrastructure works and all the safety testing, commissioning and training that must be completed to enable the opening of the world class facility.”
Translink advises all train passengers to check their timetables before making journeys and to allow extra time for travel.
The company will host pop-up information days at train and bus stations later this month to provide more details about the works and their impact.
