Van driver threatened with a knife in west Belfast hijacking

The incident was reported in the Ross Road area on Saturday evening, with the stolen van recovered a short time later

A van driver in west Belfast was threatened with a knife during a hijacking on Saturday evening.

Police were alerted that the driver of a Renault Traffic Van had been approached by a man armed with a knife in the Ross Road area.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “The man, threatened the victim and subsequently took the van.

“The van was discovered a short time later in the nearby Ardmoulin Close.”



Police have appealed for any witnesses or saw a man, believed to be in his late teens, of thin build and wearing a light grey hoody, grey bottoms and trainers in the area to get in touch.
