Police are appealing for witnesses after graffiti was sprayed on vehicles and several properties in a Co Down town, including a church.

The vandal struck between 3am and 4am on Sunday spraying the graffiti on commercial properties, the church and a number of vehicles in Ballynahinch.

Properties on High Street, Lisburn Street and Main Street were targeted along with vehicles parked on the Belfast Road.

The New Testament Pentecostal Church on Main Street was a target. A representative of the church said the graffiti was sprayed on the side wall and appeared to be a name, symbol or other type of tag. She noticed the same type of graffiti sprayed on other buildings in the town.

Police have launched an investigation into the reports of criminal damage. They are appealing to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the town in the early hours of Sunday to come forward, or anyone who may have footage.
