Traditionally the father of the bride walks her up the aisle to be given away to her husband to be.

But Co Tyrone GAA coach and proud dad-of-seven Vinny McCullagh decided to go one step further as he sang his daughter down the aisle at her summer wedding.

The 63-year-old was joined by his two daughters Aoife and Caolan for the emotional rendition of The Cranberries’ hit Dreams as a surprise for his daughter Colleen on her wedding day.

Aoife, a wedding singer, told the Irish News: “It was a surprise to the bride, Colleen - which left her, and us all, in tears, especially daddy singing the final line solo ‘cause you’re a dream to me’.

“Dad is a GAA fanatic and has coached many teams in Omagh St Enda’s GAA club for as long as I can remember.

“I’m a wedding singer so am used to performing but my daddy and sister, Caolán, pulled it out of the bag which wouldn’t have been an easy thing to do, as emotions were very high.

“The reaction to the video has been heart warming and I’m just so happy for my daddy as the love has just poured in for him.”
