A woman in her 20s has died following a crash in Co Fermanagh.
The single-vehicle crash involving a silver Vauxhall Astra happened in the Ballyconnell Road area of Derrylin shortly after 10.50pm on Monday.
A PSNI spokesperson said the deceased was a passenger and was pronounced dead at the scene upon the arrival of emergency services.
Three other people in the car were taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
“The Ballyconnell Road has now reopened after being closed overnight,” the spokesperson said.
“Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances of the collision, and would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have captured dash-cam or other footage which could assist with our enquiries.”
The woman was the second person killed on the north’s roads on Monday, following the death of a lorry driver in a single-vehicle crash in Beragh, Co Tyrone earlier that day.
Fermanagh and Omagh Sinn Féin councillor Declan McArdle said in a social media post following news of the young woman’s death: “This is heartbreaking, especially at this time of year. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.”
A total of 66 people have now lost their lives in crashes in Northern Ireland this year.
