Woman (87) to stand trial accused of causing GBH by dangerous driving

An 87-year-old woman has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a charge of grievous bodily harm by dangerous driving.

Valeria Greenwood of Woodvale Road in Eglinton appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

She faces one charge of causing grievous bodily harm by dangerous driving on December 11 2023.

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

The pensioner said that she did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.

She was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on November 6 and released on bail.
