A woman who was three times the alcohol limit crashed her car in Co Armagh shortly after being given a lift home by police.
Details of the early morning collision in Portadown were shared on the PSNI’s Police Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon account on Facebook.
A spokesperson said officers came across the “intoxicated lone female” walking home in the early hours of Sunday.
“Concerned for her safety officers offered her a lift home and ensured she got in through her front door safely,” they said.
“Not 15 minutes later officers found themselves responding to an emergency call after a report of a road traffic collision. Upon arrival at the scene they came across the same intoxicated female they had left home who had decided to go for a late night drive and ended up involved in a collision with another vehicle.

“A preliminary breath test was conducted with a reading of 114! Over 3 times the drink drive limit!”
They added: “Thankfully on this occasion, no one was seriously injured. But the female then found herself in police custody and will have her day in court.”
Meanwhile, police based in Portadown also stopped a driver travelling along the A4 road on Sunday afternoon at 122mph.
