The body of a woman has been found on a beach in Cultra, Co Down.
Emergency services are currently on the scene at the Seafront Road in Holywood.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman whose body was found on the beach at Seafront Road in Holywood this morning.
“There are no further details at present.”
North Down DUP MLA Stephen Dunne said the news was “shocking”.
In a social media post, Mr Dunne said: “Very sad and shocking news that a body has been found on a beach in Cultra. Our thoughts and prayers are with this woman’s family and friends at this most difficult time.
