Police closed the road between Gortmerron Link and Cunninghams Lane to investigate the collision.

The road has since re-opened.

Ulster Unionist Assembly Member for Fermanagh and South Tyrone Rosemary Barton  said: “My thoughts first and foremost go out to the man’s family. As I understand it, a male pedestrian was hit by a vehicle which failed to stop around 7:50pm.

“I am appalled that someone can hit a pedestrian and drive away as if nothing has happened. I would urge the driver to come forward to the PSNI as soon as possible."
