FORMER Ulster and Ireland rugby player Stuart Olding has signed a contract with a French club.
The 25-year-old has signed a two-year deal with Brive, according to the club's website.
Olding was sacked by Ulster Rugby in April, along with ex-player Paddy Jackson, following a high-profile rape trial earlier this year.
Both men were acquitted of raping a student at a house party in Belfast in 2016. However, concerns were raised about a series of sexually explicit messages between the players and their friends, which emerged during the case.
Olding's move comes after ex-Ulster assistant coach Jeremy Davidson was announced as Brive’s new head coach this summer.
Brive has been relegated into France’s second-tier for next season.
Earlier this month Paddy Jackson's lawyer told a court that the player had no offers of employment and called on prosecutors to pay his legal costs.
Brendan Kelly QC told a judge in Belfast Crown Court that Jackson (26) had done nothing to bring the situation upon himself, revealing that his client's salary had been halved when he was charged last year.
