A 41-year-old man was last night in police custody after a substantial amount of money was seized by detectives from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch.

The cash was seized following a proactive policing operation in the early hours of yesterday.

The man was arrested by PSNI officers and Belfast Harbour Police at a terminal at the West Bank Road area of Belfast and a large sum of money uncovered.

It was taken away for forensic examination.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing and concealing criminal property and last night remained in police custody.
