BBC presenters Connor Phillips and Holly Hamilton have spoken of their joy at their new baby boy.

Phillips (38), who presents Radio Ulster's mid-morning Connor Phillips Show, told listeners yesterday his wife and their newborn son Fionn were doing well.

He said the latest addition to his family was healthy and "loving life".

He also praised staff at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald, Belfast, where the birth took place last Thursday.

"It's the weirdest thing, the scariest thing you'll ever do, but they made it - they just sat there and had the craic with us," he said.

Connor hails from Jonesborough in Co Armagh and married Co Down-born Holly in 2018.

Her broadcasting and presenting credits include the BBC News Channel and BBC Breakfast.

The pair announced they were expecting a child during last year's BBC Children in Need programme.

In a tweet yesterday, Holly said Fionn "already has us wrapped around his tiny little finger", adding: "Thanks to the amazing staff at the Ulster Hospital who helped bring this little dude into our lives. I'm obsessed."
