A Co Tyrone haulier has denied involvement in a people smuggling plot that emerged after 39 Vietnamese migrants were found dead in a trailer in Essex.

Caolan Gormley (23), of Kedew Road in Caledon, pleaded not guilty to a single charge of conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration.

The Old Bailey in London was told that Mr Gormley was accused of taking part in a conspiracy between May 1 2018 and October 24 2019.

He is due to stand trial next year.
