A NEW Orange arch close to Belfast city centre has been installed following "considerable" fundraising.

The arch has been erected at the entrance to Denmark Street at Carlisle Circus by Orange Order members based at the nearby Clifton Street Orange Hall.

A service of dedication for the arch was held yesterday, led by Orange Order grand secretary Mervyn Gibson.

Clifton Street Orangeman Trevor McIntyre said: "There was a lot of work involved in this project and thanks are due to many people who played import roles, especially those who made financial donations and bought merchandise to assist with the necessary funding."
