Three members of The Nelons, an Internationally renowned American gospel family, have died in a plane crash while travelling to a concert.
Four other people also died in the tragedy, which happened on Friday, as they were flying to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska.

Who are The Nelons?
The Nelons are an American southern gospel group based in Atlanta, Georgia.
The group comprises, Kelly Nelon Clark; her husband, Jason Clark, and Kelly’s daughters, Amber Nelon Kistler; and Autumn Nelon Streetman.
For what type of music are The Nelons known?
The Nelons were known for their blend of gospel, a cappella, hymns, Americana, folk, and inspirational music, and their harmonic sound.
Jason’s musicianship and ability to arrange infectious harmonies, along with Kelly’s breathtaking alto, Amber’s soaring soprano, and Autumn’s haunting folksy vocal tone and mandolin playing blend to create a sound that was enthralling.
The group’s greatest hits include, Come Morning, I’m Glad I Know Who Jesus Is, Wedding Day, and I’m Gonna Keep Walkin’.
Accolades
The group was inducted into the Gospel Music Association GMA) Hall of Fame in 2016 and the Rex Nelon – Southern Gospel Museum and Hall of Fame in 1999.
In 2013 The Nelons won the People Choice Silver Telly Award for Excuse Me Are You Jesus.

Seven people lost their lives in the tragic accident, including Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, and Amber Nelon Kistler.
Amber’s husband, Nathan Kistler, the family’s assistant, Melodi Hodges, and pilot, Larry Haynie, along with his wife Melissa, also perished in the crash.
Fourth band member, Autumn Nelon Streetman, was not on board the aeroplane when it crashed.
What we know so far?
The group members had been on their way to Alaska, to participate in the Gaither Homecoming Cruise. Their plane crashed over Wyoming.
A massive wildfire was ignited on the ground, as the aeroplane burst into flames when it crashed. Fire crews and emergency responders rushed to the scene.
The Wyoming sheriff’s office has confirmed there were no survivors.
The jet is believed to be owned by pilot Larry Haynie.
