The Balmoral Show is always a key occasion in the agricultural calendar and its 150th anniversary is by any standards a major landmark.
After some initial difficulties led to significant traffic congestion when it moved from south Belfast to the former Maze prison site in 2013, the event has settled well in its new home.
Over 100,000 people are expected to attend the four-day programme, which as well as the iconic livestock classes also features some 650 trade stands.
Brexit may be causing an uncertain future for the farming community but all the evidence is that the annual show is going from strength to strength.
