CONOR Glass's meteoric rise through the AFL took another massive leap forward today as his club Hawthorn announced he has been promised a place on their senior list in 2019.
The former Ulster winning Derry minor football captain only moved across last year as an international rookie but has already made his senior debut, featuring in the club's last two games.
A product of Watty Graham's Glen, who was an Ulster minor club and Hogan Cup winner during his GAA days, he will remain on the rookie list for next year.
But the fact that he has been promised a spot on the senior list in two years' time bodes well for his future in the AFL, and while Derry fans will no doubt be delighted for him, there seems no prospect of him returning to play for the county in the near future.
